The originals came to light in the early 1950s; the poems were accepted as genuine Shaw and sold as such by Sotheby's in 1958. the reproduction of the relavent page from Sotheby's catalogue makes interesting reading. Published here for the first time. The original manuscript came to light in the early 1950's. The repro of the relevant page from Sotheby's sale catalogue makes interesting reading. Later doubts were expressed as to the authenticity of the poems. Here presented in facsimile from the original manuscript together with a repro of an authenticated original manuscript of a virtually unknown poem by Shaw, to enable the reader to compare the handwriting and judge for themselves.
