Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Signed and inscribed by Emily Whaley on the first front end paper. Both the book and the dust jacket are in excellent condition. You can see the covers of the book in the photographs provided. They are very clean and have little to no wear, just a little crinkling at the bottom of the spine. The interior of the book is in terrific condition. The pages appear to be perfectly clean. I didn't see any soiling or creasing or dogeared corners. There aren't any markings or attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. This book is very solidly bound. The covers and pages are very tight. The rear cover does bow out a little bit. You can see the dust jacket in the photographs. I've had it in a fitted protective cover for as long as I've owned it. It may have a very light spot on the front to the left of her name, though it's possible it's just a slight indentation there. There are also a few scratches near the top corner of the rear right below the green triangle. There are no tears on the jacket. It is NOT price-clipped. There is a small crease at the bottom corner of the front flap. The flaps are in otherwise perfect condition. From the jacket's front flap: 'Mrs. Whaley's tiny, walled garden is said to be the most visited private garden in America. And no wonder. It is the life's work of a forceful, vibrant, sociable, opinionated, determined woman who has spent the last eighty-five years cultivating whatever life offered. Now, in conversations with award-winning lowcountry novelist William Baldwin, Mrs. Whaley takes us on a tour of her garden, and her life.'. Inscribed by Author(s).
