Grade Three Math Problems: Visual Mathematics Series - Softcover

This book is part of the visual mathematics series. All the problems are represented in a visual manner and in full color. The topics covered include addition-subtraction and multiplication-division facts. But these problems are presented as distributed or interconnected grid problems. The book has been divided into three sections. The first section provides solved examples for a small set of problems. The second section largely does not include any problems based on deduction. The third section includes the same class of problems as the earlier section, but includes some cases that require deduction. It also requires using ideas about inverse relations. Problems described as addition (multiplication) require subtraction (division) when one of the operands is unknown while the result is known. As a result, they are meant to be a little more difficult set of problems. This book has been developed as a result of feedback for earlier books in the Visual Mathematics Series, suggesting an entry level book to introduce the visual problem sets. The problems in the book are designed based on the Elementary and Pre-Algebra book, but the problems have been largely simplified to focus on addition-multiplication facts, with a minimum of reasoning problems. They have been designed to use a variety of pictorial representations (with descriptions). The book also has problems designed around multiple arithmetic series. These problems are designed to illustrate special properties of fixed-distance number series. Finally, this book is suggested for students in third grade. The math problems in this book are of medium difficulty and they should be suitable for all students, in addition to visual learners.
